What is Daniel 21 Day Fasting?

Daniel 21 Day Fasting

I was checking out some weight loss articles the other day and came across this thing called the “Daniel 21 Day Fasting” method.

I must admit, I had never heard of this before until I read this article from ezine articles. So what is this hole Daniel 21 day fasting thing about? Basically, it deals mainly with the bible and how there are a few instances of fasting used specifically by the prophet Daniel. This is what I read from the ezine article:

“In Daniel 1, we learn that Daniel refused the meat and wine previously offered to Babylonian gods so that he would not defile his body consecrated to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Therefore, Daniel asked those in charge to allow him and his companions to eat differently, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.” Daniel 1:12. It’s very likely that “vegetables” also included fruit.”

This instance of fasting was mainly used as a way to reach a deeper understanding and to bring one’s body and mind closer to God. To me, this is a very extreme example of fasting that really stresses your body. It will no doubt cause you to lose weight, but I don’t think I would ever attempt fasting for 21 days. This is mainly used for spirituality and less for weight loss. I don’t really recommend this for people wanting to lose weight.

If you are wanting to lose weight and do it in a way that won’t tax your body and harm it in the long run, then I recommend you check into Brad Pilon’s Eat Stop Eat program or Rusty Moore’s Visual Impact program.

These other 2 program’s will do a much better job of helping you lose the fat you have in a healthier manner than the Daniel 21 day fasting method. Plus the Eat Stop Eat program is an intermittent fast that is only done every couple of days. This method is much easier to keep up with and won’t really stress your body as much.
